This is a great opportunity to acquire a 5513 with “smudge crown”, or Pre-Comex dial as collectors call them. The Pre-Comex has a number of similarities to some of the dials used in reference 5514 Comex-issued Subs.

The most noticeable feature is the fat bottomed ‘smudge’ coronet and we believe that these are one of, or maybe the rarest of the matte dial versions.
The all original tritium dial is in nice condition and the case remains in nice shape. As with so many of these dials (as also often seen with the Maxi Mk1 dials) the original tritium hour markers are still very fresh and white.
Many people don't know, that heavy patina is often caused by watches sitting in vaults or dark drawers. Bringing them back into the sunlight causes the tritium lume to become lighter again.
The inlay has almost no fading and the pearl is an affiliated one. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and comes on a nice solid link Oyster bracelet, reference 93150, with a clasp stamped ‘R 8’ and 580 endlinks.
